Keely Schierl, Homegrown Ontario Meat Specialist

Growing up, Keely Schierl’s parents owned and operated both a small farm and a meat packing plant in Trout Creek, Ontario. Right from the age of 12, young Keely was hard at work doing everything from sweeping floors to cutting meat.

After studying economics at the University of Western Ontario Keely took on the monumental task of owning her own business, a butcher shop in Huntsville, Ontario fittingly named The Butcher’s Daughters. The shop soon blossomed into a popular catering company servicing the cottagers and loyal year-round residents. In July 2006, after selling The Butcher’s Daughters, she became the proud owner of the Dwight Market, a market that had been known as Lawrence’s for over 40 years. She currently stocks her butcher counter with Homegrown Ontario meats.

What can Keely talk about?
Keely will demystify the meat counter while offering your audience tips on everything from chops and breasts to ribs and roasts. On a budget? Keely can show your audience how to make the most of their meat purchases.
